fiftyRX3 began in 2005 as a 365-day project documenting my goal to average fifty percent sustainability in the clothing I wore for a year. I took daily photos and classified my clothing based on the environmental mantra, "reuse, reduce, recycle". in addition to exploring our relationship with clothing and life cycles in fashion, fiftyRX3 shattered outdated images of green design by approaching substance with style.
the project included a collection created from all organic and recycled materials, most notably a dress fashioned from broken umbrellas reclaimed from the streets of NYC. the dress went on to inspire a competition to design a better umbrella and has been featured in NYLON, I.D. and PAPER magazines.

fiftyrx3 was the very first eco-fashion blog I ever came across. I can’t even tell you what a huge impact this site had on my decision to go for a 100% green wardrobe.
